Extra Credit 

1. The ALAN Review: You may go to the following web site: http://scholar.lib.vt.edu/ejournals/ALAN/  Choose an article, read the article, summarize the article in 100 words, and then give your thoughts/opinion on the article in 100 words. Your summary should be typed, double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 pt, and 1” margins top, bottom, and sides. Each article will be worth 25 pts each and you may do no more than 4 articles per six weeks.

 

1. Research and Report: Throughout each 6 weeks different authors will be studied and read. You may choose one author and research his/her life and works. After researching, you must create a visual (Power Point, poster board, web page, drawing) and give a brief report on the individual chosen. You must get teacher approval before beginning this project. First come, first serve on author selection.  All work MUST be original. You will receive an automatic 100 (quiz) for this project.

 

1. Poem Memorization: You may pick the poem of your choice. Learn the poem by memorization and recite it to the class. Each poem is worth 50 points and you may do no more than 2 poems per 6 weeks. (daily)

 

1. Other:  Throughout the year, there may be other opportunities for extra credit (movies). I will let you know about these as they occur.
